Pillow Lace – A Practical Handbook
Murray 1907, xii + 231pp, illustrated with many drawings and photographs.
My great-aunt and my grandmother collaborated in the production of this, one of the standard texts on lacemaking. This is the only book produced by the joint efforts of three of my ancestors, because my grandfather did the photography which provides illustrations throughout the text.
My copy has the bookplate of Ellen Marriage, who was of course the sister of Elizabeth and another of my great-aunts.
It was first published in 1907 by John Murray, and has remained in print, on and off, with reprints in 1955 and 1981, and possibly others, and is still available as a print on demand new book.
